Can I just share my heart?

Can I just share my heart for a minute? I have been working on building my Birth business for a while, now, but I think I’ve focused too much on the “professionalism” of it and not enough time explaining my reason behind the services I want to provide. See, I have 3 children. 25, 18 and 15 (almost 16). I am Grammy to 2 grandkids, (3 and 7 months). With the exception of a few years, I’ve been a single parent. I KNOW how hard (and how incredibly rewarding) it can be to be a mom. As a family, we have been through illnesses, traumas, life and loss. Throughout all of it, my faith in Jesus Christ has sustained us, held us up, fortified us and grown us in ways that would take way too long to try to explain in a simple post. Through all of it, I believe that God has been working on a central theme with me. (“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done...,” Genesis 50:20). I believe that I have been through various challenges in my life and have been comforted by God so that, in turn, I can help those in similar situations. (“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God,” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4) My heart - my passion - is for young moms. For those who want to be moms and are traveling the path to get there; for those who are pregnant (expected or unexpected); for those who are new moms and trying to figure out how to keep this tiny human alive while keeping a household in order and maintain a relationship with spouse. Education, Certifications, and my own experiences and passions have brought me to a point where I am able to follow God’s will for my life as outlined in Titus 2: 3-4, “Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children.” Part of teaching women to love their children is to teach them about the birth process; to teach what to expect during pregnancy; how to be mom - in those first few precious months; and more. Have you been - or are you now- an overwhelmed, expecting mom? Have you heard so many differing opinions on vaccines, co-sleeping, and epidurals that your head is swimming? Are you a new mom who is trying to remember what it felt like to have a full night of just sleep? Here is your virtual hug from me. Here I am - Grammy - ready to help, to listen, to pray. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope,” Jeremiah 29:11
